Well I have read the first few chapters of the Tony Buzan book and already I have managed to memorize the order of the planets. In one of the early chapters he details a way to remember a list of object by creating a story that links them all together. Apparently the brain has a real problem remembering single things and works a lot better by linking things together. The next few chapters will go into this in more detail. There is also a follow on from where he says that as your memory is improved so is you imagination and other traits because your brain if full of more information to work with.
Can you name the planets? I could not and if you can’t
then give the idea below a try and see if it works for you. You
need to employ your imagination in a big way to draw some mental
images with vivid colors and moving objects.
