I am building a RepRap and this is where I am going to document what I have done.

  • Printed parts. from nophead00 on ebay - £75
  • Rods and bolts and nuts from XYZPrinters - £12.16 + £8.71
  • Belts from XYZPrinters £11.71
  • 5 Stepper motors from ebay and XYZPrinters £30 + G
  • Controller - from tijnekind on ebay - £86
    • RAMPS board
    • Arduino Mega
    • Polou stepper drivers x 4 ( one drives both z-axis motors )
  • 4mm MFD sheet. ( I think this should have been thicker ) Homebase £6
  • Set of 608 bearings - from ebay
  • Hot End - J-head Mk3 with heat sink from reifsnyderb on eaby - £38
  • Wade Nuts and bolts - XYZPrinters - €23.13 EUR

  • Hot Bed

Running Total = ( 75 + 12.16 + 8.71 + 11.71 + 30 + 86 + 6 + 23.13 + 38 ) = 290.71 ( Hmmm, soon adds up )

Other Tools

• 13mm spanner, but don't tighten to much
• Saw for cutting up the base plate
• Drill
• Some Glue ( Areldite rapid, no more nails and sugru )
