Tinsley Cooling Towers

After another hassle free MOT for the SMART I decided to take it out on a day trip to York. You may like to think of this as "I commuted by car yesterday" but I like to think of it as a day out for the SMART. After the bad news that the cooling towers that make one of the landmarks of the Sheffield section of the M1, are to be pulled down at the end of the month I decided to try and get a couple of photos. I did discover a couple of areas of Sheffield that I had not previously been to in the process. Only managed to get one processed last night before my eye-lids started to close but will have a go at some more some time soon.

I think that it's a bit of a shame that they could not have made a feature of the towers. They could have converted them to offices or apartments or even just used them as a feature at the side of a new block. Still it would be good if they replaced them with two huge wind turbines.
